What are the Trail Blazers?

Motto: "Parent and child, blazing new trails together”

To all those who graduated from the Y-Guides and Y-Princesses, and those in grades 4-8…..the fun can continue! Many kids are still members and are now in High School; they just can't stay away from the fun! To all those still in tribes but also in the 4th and 5th grades, more fun is possible!

The Trail Blazers are a parent-child group that meets for monthly fun activities both nearby and far away. We don’t meet monthly in family houses and are not grouped into tribes; We don’t wear vests and go on snake dances. Trail Blazers are coed. Your child can be a member of both your current tribe and of our Trail Blazers, if of the right age.

Trail Blazers participate in more young-adult family activities. Trail Blazers involve parents and their children together in a wide variety of activities and events. Also, many of our events are open to the whole family. In addition the fun, Trail Blazers also focus some events on community service and charitable work!

TRAILBLAZER PAINTBALL BLAST
DATE: Sunday, October 23
TIME: 10:45am - 5pm
LOCATION: Promised Land Paintball (29039 Hwy C - Trevor, WI 53179)

Please join us for the Trail Blazers Paintball Blast on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Promised Land Paintball Park from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. This event is open to all Trail Blazers, Princesses and Guides age 10 and older. Guests of registered Federation members are welcome as well. Please arrive no later than 10:45 AM for orientation and instructions. Players are welcome to join later but must view a safety video before entering the game. All players must execute a waiver. Complete a waiver form for every player before your arrival to save time during registration.

Promised Land Paintball is located in Wisconsin’s Kenosha County on Hwy C (Wilmot Road), 3.3 miles west of Hwy 83. It’s a 10 minute drive from the Illinois-Wisconsin Border. Look for the small sign "Promised Land 29039" on the south side of Hwy C. Promised Land is a great facility with indoor washrooms. Admission of $50 per person includes lunch, equipment rental (paintball gun, protective mask with goggles) and 500 paintballs. Trail Blazers will provide snacks and water. Candy, snacks and beverages are also available for purchase on site.

Field paint washes out easily with water. Gloves and layered clothing are recommended for warmth and padding. For more paintball tips and information on what to bring, please visit: www.promisedland.com.

IMPORTANT: 10 & 11 YEAR OLD’S MUST BE WITHIN ARMS REACH OF A PARENT OR GUARDIAN AT ALL TIMES! Promised Land normally does not allow players under 12 but makes an exception for Trail Blazers.

Come join the fun of...

WhirlyBall combines lacrosse, hockey, and basketball with bumper cars

With the help of a professional referee, you’ll have a bang up time trying to outscore the competition!

Use hand held scoops to propel a wiffle ball from your bumper car into a scoring target in a raucous 5 on 5 game of fast action.

Trailblazer teens love taking on their parents and then in the next game clashing against other teens.

* Players should be 4 foot 6 inches or taller.

Hey Trail Blazers, set your sights on this month's event: Laser Quest. Much more than your average laser tag, it's a high tech combination of tag and hide and seek played in a large, multilevel arena with specialty lighting, fog, and heart pounding music.

When: Saturday, January 22, 4:45PM to 8:00PM
Where: Laser Quest, 644 E. Rand Road in Arlington Heights
Cost: $25 per person for four 20 minute Trail Blazer games PLUS pizza, snacks and soda!

TRAIL BLAZER ANNUAL SKI & WATERPARK WEEKEND
DATE: Friday, February 4th - 6th
LOCATION: Cascade Mountain and the Wisconsin Dells (Cascade Mountain, W10441 Cascade Mountain Rd, Portage, WI 53901)

This event is open to all Trail Blazers, Guides, Princesses, and families.

BOOK YOUR HOTEL BY JANUARY 4! You won't want to miss this great event with special Trail Blazer discounts at Wilderness Territory and Cascade Mountain. Details are attached to schedule your participation in the annual Ski and Water Park Weekend. It's a Super start to the Super Bowl weekend!

You can book one or two nights beginning Friday, February 4. Check in begins at 4:00pm at Wilderness Territory. Skiing or tubing at Cascade begins as early as 9:00am on Saturday. Even if you do not ski come on up for a great weekend at one of the Dell's best water parks.

YOU MUST MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATION DIRECTLY WITH THE RESORT BY JANUARY 4, 2011. But don't wait! All unreserved rooms will revert to regular rates after that date.

This event is open to Trail Blazers, Guides and Princesses (10 and up due to park insurance restrictions), dads, moms, friends and guests.

Save the date for our annual shoot-em-up on Sunday, October 24, at Promised Land Paintball just over the border in Trevor, WI. Equipment rental, 500 paintballs, and lunch are included for $50 per person (a $5 discount from last year!!).

This park is awesome (see www.promisedland.com) and they take excellent care of us. We'll play games like capture the flag, the nuke, command & conquer, outlaw island, jail break, and more! If you've never heard of these games, then reply now to reserve your spot.

We'll have the park all to ourselves from 11am to 5pm provided we reach the 30 player minimum. This annual Trail Blazer event is a total blast so RSVP now.
